Today, GM Fleet offers you a full selection of sophisticated petrol, diesel and LPG engines, with even greater choice to come in the future. Not just in the form of ever more efficient engines but, through the research and development initiatives of both Holden and General Motors, quantum leap advances in next generation technologies, like fuel cells.
Petrol engines

From economical yet lively fours to the awesome Generation 4 V8 – and everything in between – the GM Fleet range has the right petrol engine for every situation:

  • The Barina is powered by a zippy, 1.6 litre 4-cylinder engine.
  • The Viva’s 1.8 litre 4-cylinder engine is quiet, responsive and fuel efficient.
  • The European manufactured Astra offers several 4-cylinder variants: 1.8 litre, 2.2 litre and an all-powerful, turbocharged 2.0 litre engine.
  • The Epica offers you a silky smooth drive, with its 2.5 litre in line 6-cylinder engine.
  • The Captiva takes SUV motoring to new heights with the Australian made high performance 3.2 litre Alloytec V6.
  • The Commodore, Sportwagon and Ute ranges include three variants: 3.6 litre Alloytec V6, 3.6 litre High Output Alloytec V6 and 6 litre V8.
  • The Colorado is available with a 2.4 litre 4-cylinder petrol engine or 3.6 litre Alloytec V6

Diesel engines

With GM Fleet, the very latest in diesel technology is available on both light commercial and passenger vehicles:

  • With its silky smooth responsiveness and outstanding fuel economy, the Astra CDTI – available in both hatch and wagon – showcases European turbo diesel design at its most refined.
  • The Captiva’s common rail turbo diesel produces 25% fewer emissions than its petrol equivalent, and includes a particulate filter to further clean exhaust gases.
  • Offering potent turbocharged performance and lower CO2 emissions,* the Epica’s advanced common rail diesel engine is available with both the CDX and range-topping CDXi models.
  • A total of 10 model variants within the Colorado range come with a common rail turbo diesel engine, including the sublime, work hard play hard 4x4 LT-R Crew Cab Pickup.

*Based on CO2 emissions of 210 grams for Epica diesel and 221 grams for Epica petrol

LPG Engines

If LPG is your preferred fuel, GM Fleet caters to your needs with a factory-fitted Dual Fuel Alloytec LPG V6 engine available on a number of models:

  • The Dual Fuel Alloytec LPG V6 delivers you potential fuel cost savings of up to 33%.^
  • There is no discernable performance difference between Dual Fuel LPG and petrol, with the Dual Fuel Alloytec LPG engine delivering 175kW# of peak power.
  • The cylinder by cylinder cutover process means you can switch seamlessly and imperceptibly between LPG and petrol.
  • Service intervals are the same as the petrol Alloytec V6, with virtually no difference to service costs.

^Calculated using ADR 81/01 fuel consumption figures of 15.5L/100km (LPG) and 10.8L/100km (petrol) and average national fuel costs of LPG (73c) and unleaded petrol ($1.63), July 2008.
